Adventurer's Interior
Adventurer's interior configuration is matched to her owner's passion for racing. She competes regularly and successfully in the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race, an overnight race that requires a crew of about ten. Her interior provides a a large navigation center near the companionway and enough berths for the off-watch crew and stowage areas for her large crew. She is, of course, also a comfortable family cruiser.
Looking down from the companionway, a large, complete navigation center is immediately below to starboard. |
| To port is a generous quarter berth with a privacy screen. When racing, it is the navigator's berth. When cruising, this arrangement provides a little privacy for the owner and spouse. |
Forward of the port quarter berth is a head, easily accessible from deck or from anywhere in the main cabin.
Forward of the head is a U-shaped galley to port is complete, with double sinks, refrigerator, freezer, gimbaled gas stove with oven, and lots of counter space. |
On the starboard side, opposite the head and galley, is a cluster of large lockers. This area provides stowage space for foul weather gear, sea backs, etc. of the large racing crew.
The spinnaker is packed, ready for action. |
| The main cabin (port) provides a narrow pilot berth and an expandable settee. |
The starboard side similarly has a narrow pilot berth and an expandable settee. So the main cabin, in addition to being a comfortable social and eating space, can sleep four in comfort. |
The front bulkheads of the main cabin provide book shelves and space for important equipment, including a guitar and a small canon, to dispatch racing competitors.
In front of this bulkhead is a full width head and a modest forward cabin. |
